Words of Wisdom(Just anything you want to say) there is nothing greater than chaos you can create and chaos you can control

Anyways, HunterxHunter revolves around a boy named Gon, and his adventure to become a hunter and find his Dad, who’s supposedly the best in the business, so to speak.
First off, let’s start off with the bad points. I’m not a fan of the kiddie/ol’ school animation. If this anime was made before 96, then disregard, but It makes the show seem a lil’ softer than the animes that I tend to gravitate to. Well, the show is a little softer than the shows I tend to gravitate to.

But some how I am still addicted to this show. The characters aren’t over extra, but they are alluring in their own, subtle ways. There aren’t any DBZ/Bleach-esque super powers, but the abilities that the characters do exhibit fit the story nicely. The storyline, though cliche, is solid, like one you would see in a RPG. The show may be soft and friendly enough to watch with the fam, but there are trill moments that can be appreciated by all.

That’s right, in the eyes of those “not in the know” anime fans apparently have an insatiable penchant for cartoon bewbs, where the young lady is being penatrated by weird alien tentacles, over the top blood and gore and laser beams and robots, etc., and They usually have big ass eyes.

As an avid anime fan, I staunchly detest such stereotypes.

Yes, there are cartoons in anime that fits the above descriptions, and it is animated, but it is way too vast to try to box it in the same box as the majority of Western Cartoons.

Anime is vast. There are anime/mangas like Dragonball Z, where the focus is action, action, action, and more action. But there are also shows like Kaiji, One Outs, and Akagi, where the focus is not pure D action, but rather being analytical, and waging psychological wars against the antagonists. In said shows, the protagonists are not exactly the traditional “Good Guys”. In my favorite anime at the moment, Black Lagoon, the protags are a group of mercenaries that smoke cigarettes, drink alot of liquor, and often times revel in the killing of their opponents(unlike in DBZ, where Death came as a last resort to the bad guy, usually a hellbent megalomanic who deserves it). There are also shows like Aoi Bungaku, which also is a non-action based show, and includes things as a young man who is suicidal and sleeps with hookers. There are “Slice of life” anime like Minami-Ke, where the show is light and focuses on a family of three sisters as they go through life, and is comparable to an American Live Action-Sitcom.

Popular Animes that have been dubbed and released in the Western World Like Dragonball Z, Gundam Wing, One Piece, Sailor Moon, etc. have been heavily censored so that the shows can fit in the Western World’s “Cartoons are for Kids” Mentality. I am infuriated by such an act. This type of (excuse my slanguage) BULLSHIT happens, and then people look at us(anime fans) with a fucked up eye when we try to say that Anime isn’t just for kids, a fact that would be made clear if people would just take the time to read the mangas, most of which aren’t edited at all…or at least not to the extent of the corresponding anime…..But Niggas Reading???? WhereDeyDoDatShitAt???????

Kudos to Adult Swim, which has begun to show animes with slightly more adult language and themes like Inuyasha, Samurai Champloo, and others, but there is a long way to go before anime in the forms that they are supposed to be shown will be given the proper light. Sports Animes, Dating Anime, Action Anime, Psych-Thriller Anime, Comedy/Parody Anime, “Harem” Anime, and others can be brought over and totally change the face of American/Western Animation as we know it. Shouts outs to the creators of Nickelodeon’s Avatar:The Last Airbender, a Western show with heavy anime influences.

And about that “Bug Eye” Thing….If you check Mangas Like Bezerk, You’ll Plainly see that there is more to anime life than just the stereotypical bug eye thing….DBZ wasn’t even bug eyed like Sailor Moon, so that myth is debunked.

Here’s to hoping one day the Western World that I love and cherish so much learns to open itself up to more cultures and influences, instead of forming uneducated opinions!!!!

When The Tiger Strikes

 Takeo Mamoru, his sister Maori, and the mysterious Demon-Slayer Adarna had set off on the trip to Wenoke’e village. The siblings didn’t have very much to pack, just roughly 100 Gold Coins, Probably 2 Weeks worth of food, and the clothes on their backs. Takeo took his favorite blue shirt and threw it on. It didn’t match his brown pants and boots, but as Adarna said, “We ain’t tryna be cute!” His chosen attire was fairly durable, as was the shirt and pants he chose for his sister. The road beyond the village had a very deceptively serene landscape, visually pleasing, but the various howls and even screams and the distance was harsh reminder of the demons that lurked in the woods and mountains beyond the villages. Adarna followed closely behind Takeo, scarlet red eyes constantly surveying the landscape for any possible threats.

The only one of the group who didn’t seem to have a sense of fear was Maori, who seemed to be taking it all in stride. “Big brother, do you remember going to grandma’s house,” said Maori, “I haven’t been before.” “I remember Grandma and Grandpa as being real nice people, real traditional.” Takeo replied, “Grandma always had something cooking that smelled real nice and Grandpa was always working on people’s armor and swords. He’s a black smith.” “Ooooohhh.” Maori said, “Maybe Grandpa Can Make Miss Adarna some new armor!” Adarna scoffed at the idea, “No Fuckin’ Geezer of a Blacksmith can make armor better than the armor I already wear!” Takeo merely looked at Adarna, as if he were trying to find some tell tale sign that she was truly on her side. She carried herself with a very ruthless air, as if nothing were beyond her capabilities “Even killing a pair of kids”, Takeo thought. Takeo made it up in his mind that regardless what this mysterious woman had in mind for them, he would remain brave, brave enough to do what needed be done to ensure the survival of both him and Maori.

 The trio reached the edge, and noticed movements in the tree tops. Adarna’s hand immediately went to her blade and she looked around for possible threats, but saw none. She motioned for the kids who had leapt behind her to continue following her. The forest was dark, the small amount of moonlight that was shining down, was easily being blocked by the thick forest canopy, allowing only slivers of light to shine down, making the forest look both mystical and daunting at the same time. The group walked into the forest, climbing over brush and fallen branches, when a bird’s nest fell from the trees. “Hide, Now!!!” Adarna yelled at the kids, drawing her blood red sword. Takeo spotted a lone shed a short distance away and ran to it with his sister. Adarna moved into the clearing, eyes darting around like two ruby colored hummingbirds “Reveal Yourself, Oni-Ken!!!” Adarna said A sinister voice from behind Adarna replied “I’m Right Here!” It was a tiger demon. The demon was large and bulky, and walked on his hind feet. It’s blood red eyes looked hungrily at Adarna as it grabbed her behind, and let his claws dig into her throat, drawing deep red blood. “Aww, You thought you would get away from old Sagun, didn’t ya, girly?” Sagun growled in her ear. “ADARNA” Yelled Takeo, gripped by a sharp feeling of fear and anxiety, unsure of what would happen next. “Stay….Back..”, Adarna ordered, gasping for air and struggling to get free.

 Takeo looked around for something he could use to help Adarna, frantically digging in the small bag of supplies for anything to help Adarna. “Food, Money….Come on, Come on….Hey, A Knife!” Takeo said to himself. Takeo grabbed the knife and ran at the monster. Sagun, spotting the boy out the corner of his eye, whipped his extra long tail at him, grabbing him around the ankles, and tripping him hard, while shouting, “I’ll get at you in a minute boy…just as soon as I manage to kill Mistress Death here! Why is it getting hot?” “Get….The….Fuck…..Off…Of..ME!!!!!!” Yelled Adarna, her eyes now nearly completely red with rage. A fire red aura surrounded her and she suddenly became hot to the touch, and now Sagun could barely stand to hold her. Taking advantage of his momentary bewilderment, Takeo got up and quickly thrust the small knife through Sagun’s tail, making him cry out in pain. Adarna broke free of Sagun’s grasp, yelling “You Gotta Aim Somewhere More Vital, Kid!!! Like This!!!” and thrust her sword into Sagun’s chest.

 Sagun grasped the sword that was still stuck in his chest, and smiled at Adarna. “You Must Be Unaware that I am one of the 4 Immortal Generals….Simple Sword Techniques Will Not Suffice in Killing Me” Sagun pulled Adarna towards him, totally oblivious to the sword he was pushing deeper in his chest and attempted to use his large demon claws to decapitate Adarna, but she sprang off of him in time, only allowing for a slight graze. “Hahaahah,” yelled Sagun, “Tell Me Mistress Death, What Good Is Your Name, When You Face an Opponent That You Cannot Kill?” “Don’t Suck Your Own Dick Yet, Pussy Cat.” Adarna said with defiance, “Everyone Dies, Death is inevitable. It will always find you…” Adarna readied her sword, and finished, “I will always find you!” “I was told to focus on killing the boy,” said Sagun, “but to be honest, I care little if he lives or dies, but killing The Mistress of Death, and her blade that killed a 1000 demons, is what interests me.” “Go ahead and try!!!” Adarna screamed as she charged him. At that same moment, Takeo felt a sharp feeling inside his body, a feeling of pain that caused him fall to the ground in pain. Maori rushed to her brother, and screamed his name “TAKEO!!!!” Adarna turned around to see what was going on, but at that exact moment, Sagun rushed at her and managed to slash the distracted warrior in her ribs, creating a deep gash.

 Takeo saw the attack on his friend and suddenly heard a voice speak to his subconscious saying, “Will It To Life, My Child Will The Power!!!”…and the next thing he knew, Takeo drowned in the sheer intensity of his feeling of helplessness. “What Can I Do….I Gotta Help Her…Adarna….ADARNA!!!!!!!!!!!! Takeo’s body then began to emit golden light, the likes which the demon Sagun had ever seen, until Takeo was encased in it….and produced a large beam That Rushed In Sagun’s Direction. “What The Hell….How Dare You Attack an Immortal God…AUH!!!!” Yelled Sagun, as he barehandedly grabbed the beam as it made contact and pushed him into a nearby tree, threatening to break through and consume his body with it’s all encompassing power. Takeo’s powerful energy nearly broke through when out of nowhere he lost his concentration and the golden energy dropped, and so did he.

“Fool boy” yelled Sagun, “You almost had me, but you’re not even strong enough to control your power properly….too bad for you!” “No you giant pussy” yelled Adarna, “Too bad for you!…. BURN IN HELL!!! Henshin Dou Shiteru Kai !” A entity of the white phoenix sprang from the tip of Adarna’s sword and circled around Sagun, encasing him in a plum of fire. Sagun roared in pain as he was burned alive and combusted. Once the smoke cleared all that remained was ash. “You might be immortal, but obviously ‘Indestructable’ mighta been a better choice. Hope You Enjoy Eternity in A Million Pieces.” Adarna said, in her cold blooded manner.

 Adarna then turned towards Takeo, who now looked different. A strange star like marking appeared on his fore head, with similar strange markings down both of his lower arms. This kid must have some type of hidden power to be able to do shit like that. I gotta keep a closer eye on him. Adarna thought As Adarna walked towards the Children, She began to feel a strange burning sensation coming from her wound… “Damnit, Poison!!!” she yelled, before she fell down to the ground “Miss Adarna!!!!” End of Episode 2. Next Episode:” Blaze of Glory”(As Adarna heals from her injuries, Takeo strives to gain a control over his powers and faces off against a Oni-Ken on His Own…also, a deeper look into Adarna’s Hopes and Dreams)

The premise of this show revolves around the mysterious but sexy Hamyuts Meseta, the leader of the Armed Librarians, and the target of many assassination attempts by a group of Fanatics wishing to use the books for their own purpose.

Hamyuts is a very atypical protagonist, being that for one, she takes up very little of the spotlight, as to preserve her mysterious allure, leaving her subordinates, all with their own motivations, to take up the spotlight. The second way that Hamyuts is not the typical heroine, is that she is just as cold and calculating as the anatagonists that wish for her downfall. She definently communicates her desires to her underlings on a need to know basis, and she plays off their different instincts to make her plans fall into play, which at the current point in the series, is as yet unknown.

I Personally Don’t Trust The Heffa.

But her mastermind game is to be respected. The show has alot of action, but it’s never action for action’s sake. All the conflicts have a place in the storyline, and ultimately, the Mysterious Plots of Hamyuts Meseta. My major complaint is that the “Goal” of the series is kinda all over the place. It seems as if the creators of this show were so focused on planting seeds for the future, that they forgot to give us something to go  off of for the time being. Since I can’t really grasp the main story, It causes me to have less of a appreciation for the lackluster fight scenes. I’m all for making sure action fits in with the storyline, but if the storyline isn’t established, then all you’re doing is pumping out B.S. action scenes. This might as well been DeathNote or some other psychological/suspense type show.

My prediction is that towards the tail end of this first arc, everything will pick up and it will be the most epic show out. Unfortunately, the scatter-brained storyline may turn a lot of viewers off. I’m sticking with it because I want to see the plot come to fruition, but I definently have to knock points off this show for such a slow beginning. I’m still mad at the plot line switch up in the first 5 episodes, where the storyline seemed like it would follow one character, but the character’s storyline was ended rather shortly.

All in all, it’s a okay show, and I’m holding faith in my prediction that Hamyuts’ Big Scheme Will Result in a Big Bang Finish, But I have to give the show a 3 outta 5.
